Harry Lillis “Bing” Crosby Jr. was an American singer / actor. He was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century worldwide, and considered to be the first multimedia star. He was a leader in record sales, radio ratings, and motion picture grosses from 1926 to 1977.
Crosby acquired the nickname Bing when in elementary school, either from a prank on a teacher or from a love for the comic strip “The Bingville Bugle”. He came from a musical family and began to sing and to play drums while studying law at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.
