I’ve spent a bit of time lately loading on some old 78’s that I’ve recently come across. I don’t normally bother with these, but there’s an interesting mix I believe, so I thought I’d give it a go. I do not have a way of play testing them unfortunately, but most look in good condition. Artists include Vera Lynn, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Frankie Vaughan, Gracie Fields, Max Bygraves, Perry Como, Ruby Murray, Teresa Brewer, and the Teddy Bears. This month, I’ve reduced several of my Rock items, particularly Indie Rock, so if you are a fan of bands like Silverfish, Drive, The Fatima Mansions, Inspiral Carpets, The Wonder Stuff etc then I would check out my page here
Not one of Germany’s finest contributions to pop music, even though they sold millions of records and won a Grammy. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, Milli Vanilli were one of the world’s biggest pop acts, before the truth came out that Rob & Fab were not the actual singers. Their downfall was sudden and ultimately tragic, as Rob died from a drugs overdose at the age of 32. Seems like one of those situations that started off as a bit of a laugh, but got seriously out of control.
Going through some of my 7″‘s tonight when I came across this track by The Beat. It made me realise how little Ska I had in my collection now, especially since I grew up in Coventry around the time the scene went crazy. Note in diary!
